Key Responsibilities:

As a Construction Helper, you will play an essential role in assisting our skilled tradespeople and ensuring the construction site is running smoothly. Your duties will include:

  • Loading and Unloading Materials: Safely load, unload, and transport drywall sheets, lumber, and other construction materials to and from the job site.

  • Erecting and Dismantling Structures: Assist in setting up and taking down concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.

  • Measuring and Cutting: Support in measuring and cutting drywall sheets, wood, and other materials to fit specifications, using both hand and power tools.

  • Supporting Installation: Help position and secure drywall sheets to studs, as well as assist with installing wood framing or structural supports under the direction of experienced carpenters or drywall installers.

  • Mixing and Pouring Materials: Assist in mixing, pouring, and spreading materials like concrete for specific construction tasks related to carpentry or foundational work.

  • Demolition and Salvage: Aid in demolishing structures, including removing drywall, framing, or other construction elements. Clean and pile salvaged materials for reuse or proper disposal.

  • Site Clean-Up and Maintenance: Remove rubble, debris, and other waste from the construction site. Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants to maintain a safe and clean working environment.

  • General Site Assistance: Provide additional support to skilled workers, ensuring materials are ready and tools are properly maintained, and assist with various on-site tasks to promote efficient project completion.

 

 


 

Work Setting:

  • Construction Environment: Work on both residential and commercial construction projects.

  • Physical Demands: This role involves physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving heavy materials, working in various weather conditions, and performing manual labor for extended periods.

 


 

Work Conditions:

  • Handling Heavy Loads: Regular lifting and handling of materials up to [insert weight limit, e.g., 23 kg or 50 lbs].

  • Physically Demanding: This position requires physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks such as bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for long periods.

  • Team-Oriented: Work alongside other laborers, tradespeople, and construction supervisors in a collaborative environment.
